Livestrong Elliptical Machines - A
Smoother, More Natural Feel
You may think of them as the new kids on the
block, but Livestrong elliptical machines are designed and built by a
company that has produced innovative fitness equipment since 1975.
About the Company
Johnson Health Tech, the fourth largest manufacturer of exercise equipment in
the world, is the parent company of seven different fitness brands including
Livestrong, Horizon, Vision, Matrix, AFG, Merit, and Tempo. Livestrong
elliptical machines are the mid-priced machines between the Horizon line and the
higher end Vision brand. The patented SIXstar Certification™ used on the Horizon
ellipticals is also the frame used on Livestrong models.
Launched in May of 2009 to very favorable reviews, Livestrong elliptical
trainers are endorsed by former pro cyclist and stage-3 cancer survivor
Lance
Armstrong. The 7-time Tour de France champion said of the Livestrong and Johnson
licensing agreement: "Our team has put countless hours of development into
making these products worthy of the Livestrong name, and I am proud of this
partnership. Staying fit has always been an important part of my life and
leading an active lifestyle is one of the best ways to stay healthy. Most
importantly, purchases of these products ensure that a minimum of $4 million
will go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the fight against cancer."
Advanced Research on Biomechanics
Johnson Fitness focused on ergonomic research and testing to create a frame that
was optimized in six key areas. The SIXstar Certification™ technology
provides a smoother, more natural “feel” – which test subjects reported was
their number one factor in choosing an elliptical.
Livestrong Elliptical Machines - Factory Direct
The SIXstar Certified™ concept: ZEROgap™
reduces the space between pedals to eliminate stress on the hips, IDEALfit™
places the handlebars in the optimal location, StraightUP™ keeps the body
erect for best positioning while striding, SUREstep™ provides low
entry/exit height, FLATellipse™ offers a natural footpath motion, and
SMOOTHpulley™ features a large drive pulley ratio for a smoother momentum.
The E-Machines
There are currently three elliptical models in the Livestrong line. The
entry-level LS8.0E at $799 is built on the same frame as the mid-priced models,
and is an exceptional choice for people who want quality but don’t want to spend
a lot to get it.
On the LS10.0 and LS13.0 models, you get Livetrack Interactive™ technology,
which includes a USB device that plugs into the console to store your workouts
as data files. You can then upload the information via the USB using your home
computer, and track your progress on Livestrong.com. There you can also download
free new workouts designed by Peter Park, the personal strength and conditioning
coach of Lance Armstrong.
A Successful Launch
The combination of exciting new biomechanics-based frames, the reliable
performance of technology in use on Vision and Horizon machines, and the
endorsement of Lance Armstrong make the new Livestrong elliptical machines a
strong contender. Spend a few minutes researching their features and components
and you’ll see why they are already among the favorite trainers on the market.
